Submit Font
We’re excited to expand our collection of Amharic fonts and invite you to contribute your fonts to the community. If you’ve created an Amharic font (or know of a great one) that you’d like to share, we welcome your submission. By submitting your font, you help others access high-quality typefaces for their personal and professional projects, and you support the growth of open-source font resources.
What to Include with Your Submission
To ensure your font is added to the collection, please provide the following details:
- Font Name: The name of the font as it should appear on the site.
- Font File: Please upload your font file(s) in a common format such as TTF, OTF, or WOFF2. We recommend including multiple formats if possible for compatibility across various platforms.
- License Information: Your font must be licensed for free, open-source use. Please specify the license under which the font is released (e.g., SIL Open Font License (OFL), Apache 2.0, MIT License). If you’re unsure, please provide any details about the font’s licensing terms.
- Font Style/Description: A brief description of your font, including its design features, intended use, and any unique characteristics. If the font supports specific languages or characters, please mention that as well (e.g., “supports full Ge’ez syllabary” or “includes diacritics for Amharic”).
- Supported Languages: Please list the languages that your font supports. This will help users determine whether the font is suitable for their needs (e.g., Amharic, Tigrinya, Oromo, etc.).
- Character Set Coverage: If applicable, provide details on the Unicode coverage of your font. This helps ensure proper display of characters and symbols across different devices and platforms.
- Preview Text: If possible, include a preview of your font by typing a sample text in Amharic or another supported language.
License and Usage Guidelines
By submitting your font, you agree to the following:
- The font must be open-source and available for free use, modification, and redistribution.
- The font should not be under a restrictive commercial license unless explicitly allowed by the terms.
- You retain copyright to your font, but by submitting it, you grant permission for it to be hosted and shared freely under the chosen open-source license.
Please ensure that you’ve tested your font for compatibility across common platforms and browsers, as well as with Unicode standards.
